Palm Island, Grenadines - The Accommodation ❤

As soon one foot touched the Island we were given the biggest welcome. Warm smiles, cool towels and the amazing rum punch are what we were greeted by!!! The hotel team always greet their guests and also send them off when its time to leave - one of the many intimate gestures offered to Palm Island resort guests (many of whom have returned numerous times)

Firstly we were told not to worry about check-in, this could be done the day after. A great relief as by then we felt 'Drunk in love' with our new surroundings and after the long journey which started at 4am UK time, we were ready to be shown our room...

Palm View Room

The first room we were shown to was No.29. This was one of the Palm View rooms, spacious and very comfortable but not the room I wanted... I had my eye on Number 16 which was one of the Beach Front cottages. We decided to see if we could upgrade. The management team were more than happy to change our room as No.16 was indeed available. We were told we had one hour to wait whilst they got it ready so off to the bar we went...

Beach Front Cottage

After our gorgeous cocktails made by barman Kendol which cooled us down nicely our room was ready!!!! As soon as we arrived at the door we knew we had made the right decision to move. Set right in front of the beach, each had their own little terrace with a table, chairs, umbrella and two sun loungers. The room itself was smaller than the Palm View room and had no tub in the bathroom but hey who wants to soak in a tub when its lovely and hot outside! (Plenty time to do that in cold London...) Our room had a lovely King sized bed with the fluffiest pillows you can imagine, two chairs, a table and wardrobe spacious enough for a couple. There was also a coffee machine and fully stocked fridge which was complimentary to guests. Tap water is also safe to drink and as a gift they provide you with reusable water bottles.

This bed was soooo comfy!

The beautiful view from our room

Overall we loved our little beachfront cottage. The decor was rustic and had that Island feel to it. They were not modern and contemporary but that's what made Palm Island Resort even more special. On our fifth day at Palm Island during our lunch Katie the General Manager came over to us looking a little worried. She told us there was a water leak just outside our room and that they would need to move us in order to sort it out. We were more than happy to accommodate after all, a leak is never good. When we discovered where our new abode was we were once again extremely excited....

Sea Feather Villa

Welcome to our new home on Palm Island. We spent exactly 3 nights in the Sea Feather Villa and what an amazing experience this was. The villa sleeps up to 6 people so we had lots of space and our pick of bedrooms :) The villa comes equipped with both wifi and television but to be honest we did not feel to use either of these. The view from our living room was breathtaking. We had our own private beach which stretched for what felt like miles of white sand. Our villa came with a golf buggy to get around (heehee my husband had his eye on a golf buggy and his wish got granted).

We could order our dinner to the villa if we wanted to dine in private. The villa has a small fully equipped kitchen as well. You can order food requirements at a small extra cost. We also had the same complimentary drinks as well as cornflakes and water biscuits. There are also board games in the villa for you to play with.

We used the main bedroom, the bed was so dreamy. The rooms all have air conditioning and mosquito spray.

The bathroom also had a huge walk-in shower :)

Amazing views from the terrace

Our golf buggy was a real treat as we would often drive to the secluded spots on the island.

I believe we were moved to the villa in good time as I got really sick on the Wednesday. I had extreme vomiting and diarrhea. I was unwell from the morning with dizziness so had to stay by the pool all day in the shade. When night time came I got even worse and all went downhill from then. I think it may have been from the goat curry roti I ate as it may not have been warm enough. We visited the Island doctor and his wife who were so nice to me when I was at my worst! Even though I was feeling awful they kept us entertained and were really welcoming! It was nice hearing their stories about the island and its history.
I was lucky enough to have the whole couch to myself whist recuperating ;)

My hubby bringing my special lunch to the villa whilst I was ill  - boiled potatoes yum!!!

I wanted to share what our accommodation was like as we stayed in two different types and got to view the Palm rooms. They were all lovely in their own right, however I must say my favourite still remains the Beachfront cottage. Intimate and cosy they are enough for a rustic trip away. On the other hand being moved to the villa came at the right time as I was sick and having the space and living room to chill out in was totally amazing!!!!

This sums up the hotel accommodation - stay tuned for a breakdown of our week....❤
